Ultrafiltration (UF) for Wastewater Treatment

Ultrafiltration (UF) is an advanced membrane-based wastewater treatment technology used to remove suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, and organic contaminants from wastewater. UF systems use a semi-permeable membrane with microscopic pores that allow clean water to pass through while retaining harmful impurities.

How Ultrafiltration Works

Separation Process

Wastewater is pumped through the UF membrane. The membrane blocks suspended solids, microorganisms, and organic matter while allowing purified water (permeate) to pass.

Concentrate Removal

The retained contaminants (concentrate) are continuously flushed out to prevent membrane fouling and maintain system efficiency.

Further Treatment

The treated water can be reused directly or sent to advanced systems like Reverse Osmosis (RO) for higher purity applications.
